Zalongo Monument
It is the famous historic place at the so called mountain that became a symbol to love for freedom. This is a unique event in world history. At this place in 1803 when Souli, after many years of fights, finally fell to Ali Pasha, 63 women with their children in arms, fell off the rock singing and dancing, with their children, choosing to die free instead of surrender to Turkish conqueror. Up from there, dancing and singing, they fell with their children into the abyss so as to avoid being enslaved. This monument is a symbol so as to commemorate the sacrifice of Souliotisses women, which was erected there in 1961, fundraised by Greeks (sculptor G. Zoggopoulos, architect P. Karantinos), and you can reach it if you walk up the 410 stairs, starting from the monastery of Agios Dimitrios. This the place where many festive events take place every year on the second Sunday of August (Zaloggeia).

Memorial to Kostas Karyotakis (Vathy)
On 21 July 1928, the poet put an end to his lifewith a bullet in the heart, at Vathy, at Margarona region. Kostas Karyotakis came in Preveza as a civil servant and lived here 33 days.

Bust of Kostas Karyotakis
At the historic centre, the bust of the poet of the interwar period, Kostas Karyotakis is located at one of the most picturesque narrow streets of the city’s historic centre. The small square, where the bust stands, is really close to the house he used to live and it is called Dardanellion square.

Civil war memorial (Parginoskala)
The memorial stands at a place which is called Parginoskala and where many rebels and members of EPON were burnt alive after many clashes that took place in the city of Preveza. Among those who were killed, there were also students. Christos Kontos, a Principle of High School at Preveza at that time, was one of those people and the municipal library was named after him, as well as the narrow street that the citizens in their everyday life call Seitan Pazar.

National resistance memorial
The present memorial was donated by V. D. Kapantai and it was created by the sculptor Aggelos Vlassis. The memorial is an historic reference to the period of 1940-1941. According to the sculptor, through this memorial tribute is paid to armed resistance warriors and to people that were slaughtered. Ethnikis Antistaseos street was named after the memorial and it is where the central market of the city lies, next to the Municipal library, while earlier it was named after the Kings. The permission for the monument’s erection was given in 2005.

Unknown Sailor’s Memorial Sight
The memorial pays tribute to the sailors that lost their lives at the war of 1940. The memorial is dedicated to two historic events. The first one is about the people who were lost in an air combat fight of the Battery of Preveza during an airstrike on 13 January 1941. The second one refers to the sinking of the ship B.Π. Πηνειός (V.P. Pinios) due to a mine on 24 October 1945. It is located at the top of the city, where the Amvrakikos gulf joins the Ionian Sea, opposite Aktio, almost 1 km away from the pedestrial beach walkway.

Odysseus Androutsos statue (Androutsos square)
That monument was erected in 1966, fundraised under the presidency of the Metropolitan of Nikopoli and Preveza Stylianos. The sculptor was N. Koleus.
The monument was probably created in order to host the remains that were transferred at a special ceremony from the place where Androutsos had died. His remains are under the statue, so this is considered to be his funeral monument.
This monument stands at a prestigious place at the so called square, in front of the city’s port, a place that all tourists visit, mostly during summer months.

Memorial to those who died in wars of 1912-1940
The monument was erected by the Municipality of Preveza to pay tribute to Prevezan citizens who died during Balkan wars and German occupation. The number of names engraved on the sign shows the bravery of Prevezan people. The wreath laying ceremony takes place in front of the monument every time we celebrate a national day. It is located at the external side of  Agios Andreas Castle.
